- Selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 26th round in 1967....made it to the Big Leagues with Atlanta in 1968 where he appeared in six games and hit .400.
- Hit .321 in his first full season with the Braves in 1972 and finished 3rd in the batting race.
- Hit .288 in his second season and had 99 RBI's
- Traded to the Dodgers in 1976 and hit a career high 30 HR's in 1977. This was part of baseball's first teammate foursome to each hit 30 HR's in one season.
- Traded to the San Francisco Giants in 1984 where he batted .292 and stole four bases in one game...three of them in the same inning.
- In 1981 hit .320, went to the National League All-Star game, won a Silver Slugger Award as well as the Rawlings Golden Glove Award. Won a World Series ring the same year with the Dodgers.
- Went to the All-Star game in 1982 and won his second Silver Slugger Award
